Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in association with the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Warsaw had organized Sri Lanka Tourism Road Shows at the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria Hotel on May 14, 2018 and Sheraton Grand Hotel in Krakow on May 15, 2018 respectively.
Ms. Madubhani Perera Director of Marketing of SLTPB had led the Sri Lanka delegation of 15 major travel/ tour companies from Sri Lanka.
The purpose of this Road Show was to highlight the various opportunities available for tourism in Sri Lanka and to bring together travel and tour operators from Sri Lanka and Poland with a view to encourage them to work together for enhancing tourism exchanges between the two countries.
During the last few years, we have seen a noticeable increase in the number of Polish nationals going to Sri Lanka for tourism and business visits. There is now a greater and increasing awareness and interest about Sri Lanka among the people of Poland. Sri Lanka Tourism Road Show is a practical initiative to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in Tourism and Hospitality Sector.
The event was attended by Mr. Tissa Wijeratne, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Poland, representatives of Polish Travel Association and major tour operators from Poland. The events was followed by B2B meetings between the Sri Lankan Travel/ tour operators & their Polish counterparts.
