
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Poland, Priyangika Dharmasena met with CEO of The Polish Centre for International Aid (PCPM), Dr. Wojtek Wilk, on 18 December 2025 at the embassy premises to discuss the possibility of securing aid for Sri Lanka in the aftermath of “Cyclone Ditwah” in Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Dharmasena after briefing the Post relief operations and recovery effects ongoing in Sri Lanka, handed over information on the post reconstruction and rehabilitation requirements and relief supplies required by Sri Lanka.
Dr. Wilk mentioned that they are looking into supporting the agriculture and recovery programme implemented in Trincomalee by Japanese NGO “Peace Wings”, a reliable partner of the PCPM. While referring to current challenges faced by PCPM in funding global humanitarian projects with insufficient funding coming in to the organization, Dr. Wilk was hopeful that the organization may be able to donate some post disaster relief items, to Sri Lanka in the near future.
The Polish Center for International Aid connected to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is the largest non-governmental organization in Poland, specializing in humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, and international emergency medical aid, to assist and alleviate the suffering of victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters.
